What happened was the records went missing and they were left with a bunch of sleeves. Somewhere along the way, the missing music is found on reel to reel at a garage sale. Rootin’ around and combin’ through the garage punk archives, I rediscovered a dandy ol’ show called Southbay Pork. Episode 21 was an attempt to explain the hiatus. Apparently, he was kidnapped and dropped in the woods, and spent the year living with the Bigfeet and couldn’t escape. He plays lots of music about the primate species, and ends it with music to celebrate his triumphant return home. Towards the end, he starts playin’ some weird stuff, but that makes it all the more fun.

Unlike Episode 133, where we wanted to know what The Puget Sound Underground ate to make our station smell so terrible, this week we wanted to know who left a little present behind in Jake’s trashcan. Yep. Tonight we needed to know WHO POOPED IN THE TRASHCAN??

Aside from the usual crap, we had a special guest in studio tonight. Nick the Hat, madman artist and musician came up to the station tonight to treat us to some of his favorite albums. Aside from sharing his killer collection of bizarro psyche, garage and instrumentals, Nick also shared with us his experiences in radio, his own musical career, and the inspirations behind his nightmare-inducing artwork.

Fast and furious, rockin’ and rolling – tonight’s episode slammed into 4th gear and didn’t let up.

Kicking off tonight’s show we announced that we had a pair of tickets to this month’s Grindhouse Theater screening of Maniac in Tacoma. To win those tickets we asked all the Invaders listening in on the airwaves what their favorite song is to sing along to is – thankfully none of you Invaders know the feeling of shame.

From show tunes to The Trashmen, we had calls and Tweets coming in about who we sing along with. Even better than the artists and bands were the places which included but weren’t limited to driving to work, picking up kids from school, showering, washing the family tortoise…

With a mind melting MENAGERIE of trash and chaotic psychobilly behind us, we launched into a very special guest performance by local party band: The Bottlenose Koffins who blasted through a live set of some reverb-soaked trash. Pick up their debut album “Gayzilla” at The Kraken on April 12th. Before our night was through, Kjersti also recapped her latest Trash-Tastic Review on Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky.

When everybody was getting ready for their two-spoon fulls of psychobilly-garage-trash on
The All New KGRG FM, Jake was pickin his nose and goofed up the intro. And that was only the start of the whole mess.

Something about this evening had these goddamn robots against us. Sure, most people would blame it on operator error, especially when the host can’t even remember which bands are from where (Sorry, Tabaltix), but you can’t shift the blame on a robot that randomly shuts off.

We were just ankle deep into in the evening’s rebroadcast of Gone Mental, when that computer overheated and went kaput. I would like to challenge everybody to try cueing up a record blindfolded while avoiding silence on the airwaves. We normally try not to ramble so much, but the real challenge is that KGRG’s turntables are about six feet away from the mic, and that’s about four feet too many for this deejay’s cubby little hobbit arms.

But hey, at least you know it’s live, right? And at least you know these podcasts aren’t just douchebaggeried-overproduced-Clear-Channel-enemas.

This evening, we were also giving away tickets to Maris Farms for their Haunted Woods, and Andrew from Snohomish was the lucky Invader who got to claim em.

For those of you loyal Invaders who religiously stalk our Facebook page, you may have noticed a recent posting BEGGING you to tune in and help us shrink down our every-growing PILE of giveaways we have each week for you. Tonight is the first of many of those nights.

With a fresh question from another Anonymous submission under our belts we were ready to offload some tickets. With Klubfoot USA behind us and the first annual Zorch Invasion on the horizon – what better night to talk about our favorite local sounds? Anonymous asked us: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LOCAL BAND?

Of course, all you Invaders got super vocal and some couldn’t even stop with just one band – whether it was Supernothing, Hot Roddin Romeos, Stars of Bombay, or even the entirety of the city of Bremerton; there are tons of great local bands out there that we love supporting

When we weren’t busy chatting up our favorite bands, comparing albums there was also a brand spanking new announcement about the Zorch Invasion: alongside amazing local bands Hard Money Saints and The No Tomorrow Boys, as well as midwest badasses Dead Bundy and the Neat Neat Neats;DJ Hodaddy will be spinning records that night in between sets, wowing us with the gems of his collection. And if this wasn’t a sweet enough note to end on, tonight we rebroadcasted an episode of Gone Mental to quench that sweet tooth of yours.

“What the hell is a ‘Kappa?’” is probably what you’re asking right now. Good thing Nick Gucker cleared this up for us. After having met the chief-poster-designer of Grindhouse Theater (take a peek at his Evil Dead poster in Episode 115), we learned Nick was not only a fan of guitar legends like Davie Allan and Ennio Morricone, but he was also a musician. Nick called in to talk about his band Brain Hornet and their upcoming gig at the Seattle Funhouse (R.I.P.).

As if that wasn’t enough talk about the Grindhouse Theater, Justin Giallo also phoned in to talk up their upcoming showing of Phantasm. Check out Kjersti’s review of the film on her Trash-Tastic Thursday page.

Lots of grand pyschotronic rock and roll on The All New KGRG FM, too, with the debuting of the clean psychobilly sounds of the KDV Deviators and a wrong Madheads track. Oops! At least you know the show is live, right?

Cat memes, chewing tobacco, breathers, feet draggers, and putting gas in our cars – what do all of these things have in common? They’re all pet peeves. And don’t they drive us INSANE!?

Tonight’s discussion on Zorch Radio is based on another anonymous question submitted to our Tumblr inbox: WHAT IS YOUR PET PEEVE?

We received plenty of complaints including traffic on the freeway, people, and nonbiodegradeable grocery bags. The only good things about pet peeves: everyone has one, everyone wants to share them, and there’s still room in the comment section below for you to share yours.

Aside from what’s bugging us, we talked about Klubfoot USA all night – the enormous psychobilly festival happening St. Patrick’s Day weekend in Hollywood, California. Justin of Los Gatos Locos was in The All New KGRG FM studio talking about the gig and sharing his history with the Seattle band.

Plus, beginning with this blog post, we are starting something new with our playlists here at Zorch Radio dot com: The album title is now listed and hyperlinked so you can buy it. As Dan from Gone Mental would say, “If you like their *BEEEEEEP*, by all means, BUY THEIR *BEEEEEEEEP*.
